The Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority (ASADA) is the government statutory authority responsible for implementing the World Anti-Doping Code in Australia. The Code and the Prohibited List are developed by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).

ANB Event Testing Program: All ANB members, regardless of category, may be subject to random testing (in or out of competition) at any ANB sanctioned event. Sanctions: Under the ANB Anti-Doping Policy, ( *Australasian Natural Bodybuilding ANTI-DOPING POLICY see link above) any Bodybuilder that commits a doping offence is subject to the hearing process and sanctions of a seven year ban for the first offence and a life ban for a second breach. During the sanction period Bodybuilders will: * be ineligible to compete in any ANB competition * ineligible to hold membership of ANB * have placing, trophies and awards won from the date of the doping practice withdrawn Any ANB member that is arrested and lawfully charged with a steroid supply or possession charge, shall be banned from competition until after the court case has been determined. If that member is subsequently convicted of those charges, a lifetime ban will be issued. Retirement: Competitors are required to advise ANB in writing if they retire.
