Firstly I would like to say thank you to our ANB family for providing us athletes the experience and opportunity to do what we do best! Your class and act year round is untouchable which is why I know I will always compete for the ANB and will be my #1 federation!!! Keep up the endless work u guys do for us because we can never thank u guys.
As appose with my personal own success this year i'm proud to be crowned Mr Asia Pacifc International. After 5 months of preparation under the guidance of Mike Lee, the journey was certainly worthwhile making life long friends, catching up old ones as well as claiming:
1st place u70kgs South Coast Championships
3rd place u70kgs Sydney Championships
2nd place Short class Asia Pacific International
1st place U65kgs Asia Pacific International
It’s been a week now since I’ve won my second prestigious title (first being Mr Australia in 2011 and second Asia Pacific International in 2013) with a well renowned natural bodybuilding organisation the Australasia Natural Bodybuilding, the ANB!
Everyone knows that a bodybuilding competition is not evident without its athletes; however more needs to be recognised for the efforts about the people behind the scenes to allow us athletes to showcase what we do and to become what we are today.
First and foremost on behalf of all ANB athletes, we want to thank our ANB President Mr Robert Powell for creating this opportunity for us athletes to showcase our passion to the wider community and world.
To our fellow ANB judges General Secretary Murray Graham, Head Judge Philip Lehner, Terri Stone, Ryan Loas, Russell, Rachael, Michelle, Joanne-booth, Maria Mc Carter your continuous efforts in both guidance and expertise in this sport will not be forgotten. This allows us to improve as athletes as well as role models within the health and fitness industry.
Without the efforts of these guys, there will be no titles, no trophies, no exposure, and no opportunity to showcase our passion.
Your ANB champion Graden Leong
Wow what a year it has been. I just wanted to say a big thank you for such an amazing introduction into this sport. I have fallen in love with it and i think a big part of that is the fact that the ANB federation here in Victoria is so great.
The people are amazing and the atmosphere at the comps have been awesome. We all appreciate the hard work you have put in this year, as well as all the previous.
I look forward to 2011 and have a feeling it is going to be an amazing year. I have a lot of work to do as it is going to be a big step up from novice to open, But I can’t wait to step on stage and do Victoria and (Australia) proud. Cannot wait to catch up again in the new year.
I really wanted to extend my thanks to the team at ANB for the Shellharbour competition on the weekend!!
It was my first experience with the ANB federation and with the sport of body building, and it was the most amazing day!! I couldn't have asked for a better experienced. I was quite aprehensive initially at the idea of competiting as I did not know many people who had ever gone down that path, however after meeting Maria from ANB in Melbourne earlier on in the year I felt that I could acheive the nessacary physique and that the ANB seemed like a federation I would like to be affiliated with.
I chose the Shellharbour competition as the date gave me enough time to work towards my goal and I also assumed it would be a small, regional show. How I was wrong!! The show was HUGE and it completely blew me away at the amount of competitors AND audience!
Moreover, I felt extremely welcomed by all the back stage Totalee staff and the judges and officials. Each ANB representitive came up to me at one point in the day and shook my hand and congratulated me on my win. Even before I had won I had made contact with a couple of them and they had all been extremely positive and given words of encouragemented.
I am sure it is not an easy task to coordinate events such as these and having run my own fitness business I know that a lot of what gets done behind the scenes does not always get recognised. However I have nothing but praise for the ANB and think Sunday's show was extremely professional and I would like to be involved with more ANB events.
So thank you to the entire team, I will continue to compete within the ANB federation and I will pass on my positive experience to those whom I speak to :-)
TEAM Fitness Pty Ltd.
It was great to meet you on Saturday. I would like to thank you and the ANB for a fantastic well organised day on Saturday (QLD titles) This been my first competition, I did not know what to expect, and am so proud of my result, 3rd place in Womens Master Figure (no 47). From registering at Sporty's on the Friday to the conculsion of the day on Saturday, it was an amazing experience, I am still on a NATURAL HIGH.. everything was so well organised and professional, the main thing that stood out in your brief to the compeditors, was to have FUN, and I sure did, including my support team of 9 and my trainer Chad Islip from the gym Fitness Plus in Coolum on the Sunshine Coast.
I look forward to competing in May at the Asia Pacific and achieving even better results, already back in the gym training hard.....
I just wanted to take a few minutes of your time to thank you for the truly fantastic event which I was lucky enough to participate in yesterday.
I truly had a great time competing in the men's novice division, I placed 4th from 5 competitors, most people would be disappointed with that result, but the size and conditioning of the novice men even though it was a small line up was amazing, and I was just happy to be up there with them.
I also received some really positive feedback from one of the judges, that will help me in the off season to come back with a bigger, but more important better physique so I can challenge for a higher place next time round.
To summarise briefly I had a fantastic day, and I'm left with nothing but positive memories, and some new friendships that will continue for many years to come. after all... I guess that's what this sport is all about. so it goes without saying that I will be back next year.
I just have to look into the Nationals now and see if I can afford to go, as I'm sure this would be anbother fantastic event. and i would have a little bit of time to improve my physique 1 or 2 % and use what I have learnt to come in as best as I can.
Thank you so much for your time
Recently my son Luke (the young guy in the green trunks) competed in the ANB Bodybuilding Championships in Sydney. It was his first competition and he had one of the most enjoyable days of his life.
He was a complete novice, having never even been to watch a bodybuilding event before, let alone compete in one. However, he decided to give it a go.
Everyone was extremely supportive and friendly on the day. This included the help Luke received when he and his mate were caught reading the instructions on how to apply the magic "Dream Tan" just before going on stage! (Thanks to the lovely blond headed lady who was helping out the back!)
During the day, Luke was subjected to drug testing procedures - being a newcomer he expected he would be. Further follow up tests have ensured that Luke is in good health. He supports such testing, as he only agrees to having a natural approach to bodybuilding.
Thanks to Robert Powell and the team at ANB for such rigorous testing procedures, which will ensure this enjoyable amd healthy sport remains drug free!
I competed yesterday at the Sydney championships and just wanted to say thank for a great day. Being my first competition I was very nervous, but the show was run very smoothly and well organised. I used this comp to test the waters, so to speak, as to where I stood on the grand scale of things.
Again I was happy but next time I will be a lot sharper, I dieted for 5 long months and lost 24kgs, so I did run of steam a little, a couple of weeks before the comp. My plan now is to stay a lot leaner and come in super ripped on my next comp. not sure if it will be this year as I got a hernia a couple of days ago so I'll get that fixed first. But well done on a great day and again thank you.
Competitor No. 36 Joshua Johnson, Under 90kgs. 4th place.

Dear Robert & all the ANB staff & sponsors,
I would just like to express my thanks for an amazing day yesterday. I had the time of my life!
Your organization has delivered the most positive experience for me and my family. You and all your staff involved make the journey to the day, and on the day, a very enjoyable one.
Your friendly smiling faces and encougement everytime I speak to you is what makes you stand out. Congratulations on making the sport a magical one.
"life is not measured by the amount of breaths we take, but rather by the moments in life that leave us breathless"
You gave that to me.
I wish to convey my sincere and heart felt thanks to you in appreciation for your support and passion of natural bodybuilding. Thank you for taking the time and effort to make every competitor feel special in their own right.
The Queensland and Nationals shows were once again brilliant and always provide a fun and friendly atmosphere for everyone involved. It is an honour to compete with your federation and it is definitely the only one that I will compete with.
So it is back to the grind stone again in the hope that I can put myself back on stage next year with a better physique than this year and defend my titles.
Thanking you once again for everything,
2006 Victorian Championships
Thank you very much for your help and support. I really liked and enjoyed today's show, it was fantastic. Everything was perfectly organised and you did very well. Well done hope to see you on my next contest.
Congratulations on such a good show yesterday. Standing back now really makes me realise what a very high standard of competitors your show attracted and I think that's all to do with you positive attitude and the fact that you make the competitors feel as though they matter.
I know you've got a long list of things that can be improved but overall I have had great feedback from people in the crowd as well as competitors.
Bronwen and Sam both had lots of fun and Bronny is now highly motivated again to compete (possibly end of next year) with ANB.
I've spoke to Fiona last night and she was very positive and proud to be associated with your show - THAT'S SAYING SOMETHING. She has incredibly high values and was extremely happy to finally be associated with a fair federation.
Well done sunshine, you ran a very tight ship and I'm very pleased to be associated with it.
If there's anything I can do to help arrange the next show, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Just a quick note. Went to the Queensland ANB on the weekend and just loved it. Very professional show, fantastic athletes, great MCs. Over all very impressed, good job guys. I've been to all the QLD comps this year, and this show by far the best.
Just want to say how awsome the event was on the weekend. It is my first year of competing and have to say I had an absolute fantastic time. The event was run professionally but with a lot of fun thrown in. Can't wait to be involved more with ANB competitions in the future. Keep up the fantastic work.
Thank's for helping me become the 1st ANB female Professional bodybuilder
I would like to thank you for and accept the Professional status being offered to me as a bodybuilder in the WSNO/ANB Federation. I am looking forward to the new challenge that this has now set for me. To achieve this in such a short period of time with the ANB Federation is a nice surprise. I feel we have extremely strong competition in Australia so I know that when the team go over to Canada in June that we will all do very well.
I cannot go past the ANB team also, anytime I have any queries regarding anything to do with training or competing I am able to either email or call one of you guys, in particular you Ron, so thank you for helping me become the first WSNO/ANB female Professional bodybuilder.
By achieving this title I have also been able to secure a clothing line sponsorship with MOB clothing 0405138888. These guys are saving me a small fortune in training gear and they are even going the extra step and providing me with evening wear (so you can imagine how much I am loving that!). I'll have my website up & running soon thanks to Bodyscience so everyone can get to see the great stuff they have.
I am hoping I can bring the Professional title home but I am realistic that the competition is going to be very strong with a lot more competitors. I'm up for the challenge though and look forward to representing Australia in June.
Once again, thanks to the WSNO/ANB team for being so FANTASTIC & supportive. The QLD trip to the Australians this year was great fun & to come home with a victory for NSW was the icing on the cake.
