Craig's Blog #7!...

My very first contest back in 1994 was the  very first 'natural ' show in WA where I did the Novice Men's Division at age 29. So it is fitting, I guess, that some 18 years later at age 47 I give something back and sponsor the Novice Men's Division at my 50th contest under my "Bodychisel by Craig" consulting business name! This really feels like I have come full circle in almost one whole generation of bodybuilding competitors. This sport has been so very good to me so I will feel proud to reward these up and coming fine gentlemen with their trophies and prizes.

Craig's Blog #6!...

Hi again everyone, Well I feel it is that time once again for my weekly blog to bring you more bits and pieces from CW's bodybuilding world.      Motivation and inspiration are so important in life and are key aspects to bodybuilding success and longevity in the sport. One way to motivate yourself is to create a very positive mindset whereby you always aim high and cast the naysayers to one side. For many years I used to put in a contingency plan for not winning so as to be not too disappointed if the cards didn't fall my way so to speak. The funny thing is of course is that the temporary disappointment is there anyway. My fiancée Louise, who has a Masters degree in HR, told me to "act as if there is no doubt" and to visualize winning from accepting the 1st place trophy to celebrating afterwards with friends and a fun feed. The feelings of temporary disappointment are still present when you don't win regardless of your previous mindset. And I know those feelings don't last as you ...

Craig's Blog #5!...

Hi again everyone,   Time for another blog in the bodybuilding world of CW and I hope Blog #4 had some things that made you think a bit.     Now I do like to kick off with things that drive me or inspire me to stay in the game and live the bodybuilding lifestyle.   I have really enjoyed consulting with people of all ages over the last five years or so to helping them both look and feel better about themselves. I particularly like to help the young guys to get involved as with this age of social networking, play-stations and simulated sports it is always great to assist them to get active and healthy again as that will only help them later in life in so many ways.     Four of my recent clients Will, Paul, Chris and Adam, were very successful in the May/June contest season with first and second placings in their Teenage, Junior and Open divisions. They all looked outstanding and have since continued to live the lifestyle and will only just get better and better wit ...

Craig's Blog #4!...

Hi again everyone,   CW back again with more bits and pieces from my bodybuilding world. In my last blog I spoke of goal setting combined with passion and purpose as being essential elements of our existence. They give us direction and are hence very motivating tools. Another motivating aspect of this sport for me is the motto that we should always strive to better ourselves and never accept mediocrity, even when others try to drag you down and tell you that you will never get there. For me I have always walked away from a contest with various emotions ranging from disappointment to satisfaction to elation. Regardless of these feelings I have always listened to my close peers, assessed my contest photos, critically analysed the DVD of the show and used that as a launching pad to create and even better version of myself in 6 or 12 months time.    I literally look for the ‘holes’ in my physique and contest preparation that need to be modifie ...

Craig's Blog #3!...

Hi again everyone, I hope my waffle in Blog #2 had something in it for you that was of interest. It is something that I enjoy doing in trying to share my journey of what the sport of bodybuilding can offer you in terms personal development, lifestyle and just plain good fun. One of the greatest motivating aspects in this sport has been the ability for me to be able to create goals. These goals have been many and varied and include time spans ranging from short to medium to long term. Goal setting is such an important part of our life that people don’t even realize they are doing even on a daily basis. We always like to have something to look forward to, be it a family holiday, hosting a New Year's Eve Party, a gala occasion or anything that requires some planning and preparation. Goal setting helps give us direction in our lives. I have always found that with bodybuilding you can create a short term goal to clean up your diet and shed a few kilograms so as to feel a bit better about yourself. Or pe ...
