Craig's Blog #11!...

Exercise of the Week
One of the exercises I have alluded to in my HIT Hamstrings & Calves workout is the stiff-legged deadlift. This is a very gruelling exercise on a par with full squats and is great for stimulating growth all over your body with the effect it has on your Central Nervous System.
The variation I do is the one advocated Stuart McRobert and Dorian Yates. It is safer on your lower back but still really taxes your hamstrings with an excellent isometric contraction.
I like to grip the bar with one hand under and the other over. This is a very strong grip when going heavy on the last couple of sets. Your feet should be about 20cm apart and pointing straight ahead with your knees slightly bent.

Craig's Blog #10!...

Hi again everyone, People often ask me how I stay motivated to maintain good condition all year round. The answer to this question is threefold. Firstly, I really enjoy the feeling of being relatively lean as you not only look good but you feel vibrant, energetic and more focused and this in turn makes you more productive and efficient in other aspects of your life. Secondly, by maintaining an on-season approach with consistent training in the gym, excellent daily nutrition and regular cardiovascular exercise you can enjoy those wonderful deviations (or cheat meals) and not feel guilty doing so. The bodybuilding health and fitness lifestyle really goes against the aging process of decreasing metabolism and loss of muscle mass as you get older. More and more Gene ...

Craig's Blog #9!...

We all need to be much more positive and encourage one another to excel and not accept mediocrity. These friendships of mine that I have formed from competing go against this national Aussie trend and that is also so inspirational to know that we are becoming part of the solution to this problem.
So let's all continue to promote this respect & comaraderie in our sport and hopefully it will eventually filter into society in general. If we could do this then we would all be more focused, productive, motivated and most importantly...happier!

Craig's Blog #8!...

Hi there again everyone, I hope you enjoyed my last blog which occurred whilst I was in Melbourne with my fiancée Louise. I am now back in WA and really going hard, at the business end of my contest prep, for my next state title on September 15th.    'Changing the environment' was my last topic of inspiration and motivation. This week I would like to touch on our bodybuilding health and fitness lifestyle that should not be taken for granted. I was talking with Louise the other night and we were both sharing stories of our shopping ventures in our local favourite supermarkets. My Supa IGA is located next to my gym in Port Kennedy and is perfect for me to duck into after I have trained. I am usually a bit sweaty and with my attire obviously look like I have just worked out. So I will grab what I need and will usually do ad hock shopping several times per week getting a several days worth of food at a time. In my shopping cart will be usually eggs, steak, chicke ...
