Originally from the U.K… Migrated in 1988 as an 18 year old. Fitness is in the family with a father and brother both being professional boxers. Was a representative swimmer when younger.

Not until 2007 did Trish start to get into fitness again. Sparked by her 9 year old daughter (now 16) being involved in a very serious car accident and almost losing her life. Trish started to walk to clear her mind and with a friend joined at gym and started to partake in group classes….. it wasn’t long before she was hooked. Reaching a point after a couple of years of wanting more and gaining an interest in health and fitness and what weight training could achieve. In 2010 she went and watched her first competition and decided then and there that she wanted to compete.

2011 Came and after battling severe low self-esteem, low self-confidence, depression and self-worth over many years, it came to a head and she contemplated suicide. After calling on help from friends and a psychologist she decided the time had come to tackle these demons….. and what better way than with something she loved – training!

October 2011 she found an amazing trainer – Jason Clark from Committed Training and started training and dieting to compete in May 2012 at INBA in Brisbane. During this time she also completed her Cert III and IV in Health and Fitness/Personal Training

May came and it was time to hit that stage… she always joked that they would have to push her on stage… but to her surprise she got up there and it felt like home! After taking out both of her categories in her first ever comp she was shocked and overwhelmed at the result and never thought it possible. 2 weeks later it was the ANB Asia Pacific on the Gold Coast… yet again winning both of her categories. What a HUGE turn around in just 12 months

Trish received a call from Antonietta Jones notifying her of her selection for the ANB Team competing in Las Vegas in November 2012 and was a tad speechless… hahahah

Competing in Vegas was a dream come true as one of her goals was to compete internationally. She learnt so much and was thrilled with coming 6th against world class athletes in her field in her first ever year of competing. Stepping on that stage was surreal and one of the proudest moments of her lifeand for the first time was actually proud of herself ;0)

After returning from Vegas she is now looking to compete again in 2014… taking 2013 off to improve, develop and grow using new and exciting ways of training…. And to also concentrate on her career and launching Kosama Fitnesss in Australia a new functional training facility from the USA. ………she would like to help, motivate and support everyday Aussies in reaching their health and fitness goals.

Another goal is to change the public’s perspective on Women in body building…. To show, especially women, that picking up weights will not make them masculine but will give them shape and tone… and also improve their confidence and esteem. She would like to get the message out there that you are NEVER too old…. Trish is 42 and had only been training for just under 12 months when she first stepped on the stage. She is not different to anyone else.. She is not a professional athlete, model or movie star… she is just an everyday suburban single Mum who works full time. She wants to get the message across never to underestimate the power of exercise… it is not just good for your body physically but also for your mind and mentally which is the most important in her opinion.

Trish would love to thank all of her friends and family (special mention to Hnatia her daughter) for their support… her amazing sponsors Australian Sports Nutrition and Steve and Antonietta Jones for selection her and believing in her to represent Australia in Vegas… she plans to be back there in 2014… J Watch this space J
