To the ANB family ,
The 2012 Australian Championships for Figure and Bodybuilding are done and dusted with an exceptionally great day in the ANB history.
Athletes from every part of Australia went at it Sunday with the quality exceptional. World class aussie athletes stood on the Club Marconi stage and those who were fortunate to be in attendance and witness these great aussie athletes were left wondering just how they do it. You know you are witnessing something special when the crowd is sitting back and you can clearly hear the comments of look at her / him, then the entire auditorium breaks out in applause for the quality of each athlete they are seeing on stage. As each division concluded then the next division came on stage it was full on for all. As the athletes went at it so did the judges in pulling apart these awesome ANB athletes from all over our great country.
• South Australia, led by David Salamon, Joel Ramintas Overall Bodybuilding Champion and the new kid on the block teenage champion Kwame Duah.
• Victoria, led by Maria McCarter and Bridget Freeman Overall Figure Champion who has made her own history in becoming the first Overall Figure Champion from Tasmania.
• Western Australia, led by the ageless Craig Bodychisel Winter
• QLD, led by Rachael and Russell Brereton along with heavy weight champion Mike Waddington
• Townsville, led by Rhonda (happy birthday Australian Champion )and Jim Barnes, along with Tony Tsompanellis (Team Empower) and Megan Groves Overall Bodybuilding Champion.
• NSW lead by Light Heavyweight Champion Ryan Laos and many of our life long mates that are just too many to name.
• For the first time at the nats we had from Cairns, the Angels & Demons led by Alicia Giaimo who unleashed some new athletes not seen before on the nats stage that are here to stay.
Catching up with old mates and meeting our new mates will forever change our lives in so many positive ways. Every athlete who stood on stage had their own individual story and does it for their own reasons but there is one fact that is with everyone, it’s their support team / family / loved ones that they lean on when needed and get them through the hard times when each athlete questions why they do this. To each and every athlete who stood on the Club Marconi stage we salute you on your wonderful achievements. You all inspire us to work harder to ensure your ANB experience at each and every show is one that you enjoy and have fun.
The overall divisions Sunday night were absolutely fantastic. Each Australian Champion was introduced before they all went at it and the auditorium “went off”.
Now it’s time to sit back, enjoy your rewards and plan your next show in this off season to again return to stage with the new you that you have created.
You all are the reasons why each show each year, we do what we do
To all our wonderful sponsors, thank you for your ongoing commitment to the ANB and we look forward to 2013 together.
On behalf of Mr Robert Powell (ANB President and founder) and the ANB Executive, till we see you again take care and god bless.
From me personally, thank you for what you all give me holds a special place within my heart

Regards,
Murray Graham
