The Toronto Sun newspaper used two ANB Aussie champions to promote the recent world championships, in the picture (click it to see the full version), on the right hand side you can see Markeeta Maletz and Naomi Gibbins, two of the hottest female bodybuilders in the world today.
Naomi is just walking on stage as I type this, in Miami and we are all wishing her the best, along with the other team members who have continued on with the fantastic ANB World Discovery Tour.

"u shud see me now!! ridiculous! backig up is AWSUM! this is it im gona smash this one!!" <--- That’s the phonetic yet still clearly determined message that other Universe contenders should look out for, Naomi was just outside the placegetters last weekend at the World Championships, but reading into her words, she has benefitted by the experience and improved as sometimes happens, and she is ready to grab her piece of glory in a couple of days
time in Miami, Florida, USA for the Musclemania ‘Universe Weekend’. The ANB wishes Naomi and the entire ANB World Discovery Tour members the best possible outcomes for all their respective divisions, we are behind you 100%, good luck!!! Travelling with the team is Lindy Olsen ANB Liaison officer and head of special projects, plus Dallas Olsen from Dallas Olsen Productions, who is covering the world tour with webcams, photography, contest reports and television hook-ups. The ANB is proud to have such wonderful members and associates representing them as they travel around the world showing everyone they meet just how great a secret we have ‘Downunder’. World Championship Update
Appendicitis hits TigerG at the worst possible time.
Well, you can plan your travel, you can get into shape, have your costume and music perfect, be mentally switched on, in the best shape of your life, ready to win and Bam – your appendix burst the night before your contest and the dream is over. Actually, it’s not over, just deferred till next year.
This is the sad but true reality for Australia’s Sports Model queen TigerG, this is how it played out in Ontario, Canada as her husband Murray ‘Mad Dog’ Graham was crushing the cream of the world’s best bodybuilders and taking third place just 2 kilometres away at the WNSO World Championships as Tiger lay in a hospital bed.
Life can be pretty tough, to say that the timing of the illness could not have been worse is an understatement, earlier that day Tiger was looking in the best shape of her life, her legs had cuts and this is the last area to rip up on her body, she would have been ultra competitive and was more than ready to win.
TigerG had just spent a gruelling week promoting female bodybuilding and more specifically Sports Model in the USA the week before flying to Ontario and had created tremendous interest with her 50 minute TV special which was announced on this website last week, you can still see it at: http://www.justin.tv/bbcom/126960
Tiger was released from hospital only three days later and is spending a relaxing week in Canada before flying back home after that, she is doing well and asked for her many thousands of fans and friends to be patient as she will eventually answer each and every message she received during her overseas jaunt.

It was such an awesome experience and without you and the whole guys that make ANB such a great federation to compete under I would not have been able to achieve my dream to compete internationally and represent the best country in the World.

I cannot tell you how close the mens bodybuilding was, it was so close and I couldn't pick it and to say that our aussie boys came home with top 3 placings WAS INCREDIBLE! These guys posed for over an hour battling it out! They had sweat dripping off them and had to work really hard just through their symmetry rounds, the competition was really tough!!
We'll have more pics for you tomorrow once we get to Miami when we have a chance to get the all done. We also have a tonne of webcasts of the comp prep and after the comp with the jubilation and excitement from the whole team!! They’ll be ready soon!
Webcasts are on their way, our Aussie team did AMAZINGLY well and I'm just so proud and grateful that I could be here to share in their success! I am absolutely stuffed and so is my husband Dallas who has been sitting in the one spot all day taking the shots for all the guys and gals.
We are both so tired after running around after everyone this last week, but the attention to detail and the late nights and early mornings have paid off.
It's like I took home the gold medal myself! This bunch of competitors would have to be one of the best group of competitors I've ever travelled with! An absolute pleasure!!

Aussie Gold at World Championships

Markeeta writes she is unsure what placing she took. Both Markeeta and Naomi got called out many times and they were amongst the last 5 that got called out. Markeeta say's you never know, perhaps a 4th or 5th maybe. Markeeta's words, "It was soooo awesome, I really enjoyed myself, can't wait for Sunday now, woohooo bring it on".

WNSO World Championship 2006:
Official Results from the WNSO World Titles in Toronto, by Australian Team Captain and correspondent, Sean Crossan.

What an amazing result for these three dedicated natural Australian Athletes. With over a 1100 competitors at this event, the quality of all the athletes was overwhelming. With over 23,000 spectators through the doors over the three days, the WNSO truly is the pinnacle of Natural Bodybuilding in the World.
Danny Du showed up in the condition of his life with an awesome combination of size and definition, plus he was completely shredded! His flawless routine had the crowd cheering and it was a unanimous decision by the judges to award Danny 1st place and the MR.WORLD Title. Lookout for Danny gracing the covers of many bodybuilding magazines over the coming weeks.

Karen Crossan, "the mother of five from down under" (as she affectionately came to be known over the weekend) was the only competitor who competed in three different categories over the weekend and had everyone talking!
In her first category she managed to wow the judges with perfect symmetry, amazing abs and of course freakish conditioning and was awarded 2nd place in the Advanced Figure. This is an incredible effort by Karen considering there is no Masters Figure category at WNSO World Championships, so Karen was the oldest competitor by 10 years! The WNSO Head Judge personally commented to Karen that her routine was the best of the day (as she stayed true to what a figure routine is all about, posing not dancing) and the Head MC announced 1st and 2nd positions were extremely close.
On the second day of competition, Karen had to back up and first compete in the Masters Bodybuilding followed by the Fitness Model category. Karen was extremely happy with her 4th placing in both events considering they were "just for fun". Check in on Karen's website www.aussiefitmums.com for a more personal account of her WNSO efforts.
Kris Gethin, an Australian athlete and journalist/photographer now based in LA working for Weider Magazines, also came in to the Light Heavyweight Category in excellent condition. Kris's size and symmetry (best legs in the category), plus his crowd pleasing routine impressed the judges and he was awarded 2nd place. Kris is a seasoned athlete who really knew how to work the crowd and please the judges.
Kris and Karen later agreed they should have competed in the Pairs and would have definitely placed in the top three. Next year perhaps?
All Aussies athletes who competed would like to thank their sponsors, family and friends and showed that Aussie athletes are amongst the best on the planet.
